St Mary's offers Morning Worship at 10.30am until around midday each Sunday. The first Sunday of the month is All-Age Worship, when young, old and in-betweens stay together for the whole service. All other Sundays, apart from the summer holiday period, children and young teens go out to classes after the first 20 minutes and a supervised creche (Little Faith) is available for threes and under. Holy Communion is shared on the 2nd and the 5th Sunday of the month and there is an 8.00am Holy Communion Service on the third Sunday. There is also an Evening Service at 6.30pm every Sunday, with Holy Communion on the 2nd and 4th evening of the month.
We use modern-language forms of worship from the Church of England's 'Common Worship' book, including the Service of the Word and Holy Communion. These services incorporate confession of sin and assurance of forgiveness, Bible readings, a statement of faith (a creed), a sermon, prayers, hymns and songs with the sharing of bread and wine to remember Jesus. There is a well-balanced teaching programme incorporating a straightforward look at a chosen part of the Bible or a Biblical theme, with an enthusiastic approach to praying and worshiping God.
St Mary's is blessed with a dedicated team of people who share the leading of worship, prayers, preaching and Bible reading. During or after the sharing of Holy Communion there is time for personal prayer at the font with two members of the Prayer Ministry Team. These carefully chosen individuals, who have promised confidentiality, will listen to prayer requests and concerns and will give full prayer support.
