IMPORTANT NOTICE 03.04.20:
Due to the current situation, our regular opening hours are now suspended and all food parcels must now be pre-booked by telephoning 07964994008. Please do not email or contact us via Facebook. You must phone or text the above number to arrange for help. Self-referrals are also suspended until further notice. Your parcel must be booked and an appointment time for collection will be given to you. Failure to collect your parcel means it will be given to another client unless you have rearranged an alternative time with us.
We are running very short of essential supplies and although we have received many monetary donations from our fabulous community, we cannot source food in large enough quantities for the demand, therefore we are having to ration our parcels in order to stay open longer.
We hope to help as many people as need us in these difficult times but you must contact us first.
If you wish to make a donation, please use the Food Bank drop off points in Sainsburys or Morrisons, in Denton. You can also contact us to arrange a time to drop off at the Church
Thank you for your support. Please stay safe.
FOOD BANK NEEDS THIS WEEK (03.04.20):
Due to the current circumstances, our foodbank is experiencing unprecedented demand. Stocks of food are low and we cannot supplement them by buying from stores as we are restricted to amount (rightly so), and the foods we rely on are just not there. We need most staple foods but in particular: Long life Milk, Tinned pies, Tinned or packet custard, Jars of pasta and curry sauce, fresh vegetables and fruit, Cordial, and Tinned spaghetti
Food needs are everything, especially Long Life Milk
Any donations very gratefully accepted. Please contact us on the number below if you wish to donate at the food bank or use one of the drop off points located around the area.
Thank you to everyone for your continued help and support, stay safe!
Referral forms are available from: Social Services, New Charter Housing and other housing associations, Citizens Advice Bureau, Christians Against Poverty, TMBC, Haughton Green Centre, GP surgeries, local schools and many other support agencies. If you have difficulty obtaining a referral form, please contact us.
For any enquiries, contact our Food Bank number on 07964 994 008, OR phone the Church Office on 0161 336 4529.

We are very thankful for all the donations given to our Food Bank. If you would like to make a donation by cheque, please make it payable to St Mary's PCC, and write that it is for Food Bank on the back.
Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.’
St. Mary's Church and Community Food Bank was the first Food Bank to be opened in Tameside. Staffed entirely by volunteers, we offer food parcels to families and individuals throughout Tameside who find themselves in crisis, through a referral system. All food is donated by the wonderful Tameside public and churches.
Our usual Food Bank opening times are currently suspended until further notice!!
All food parcels must be pre-booked!
You're never too young to help.
Thank you to Greggs who donate bread to the food bank every week.
